About Marianna
Agostino
Chartered Accountant · Certified Chair™ · Strategic Financial Adviser · Board Director
Marianna Agostino is a Chartered Accountant, board director, and strategic financial adviser with over two decades of experience working across not-for-profits, SMEs, and membership bodies in Sydney.
"Marianna is a rare individual with financial acumen, vast board experience and corporate funding know how. Her ability to zoom in to uncover gaps, or zoom out to present strategy, makes her an asset to any board or management team."
— CHRIS PETERSENThe experience behind
the advice.
Her career spans over a decade in public practice — including at a firm that became part of RSM, one of Australia's leading accounting networks — through to founding her own practice and working directly with boards, executive teams, and CFOs navigating complexity, growth, and change.
Marianna served as Acting CFO at a large Sydney NFP, providing senior financial leadership during a period of significant organisational change — covering governance, reporting uplift, audit readiness, balance sheet remediation, and finance function transformation. It is a practical example of what a fractional CFO engagement looks like: deep technical expertise, applied with commercial judgement, delivered without permanent overhead.
Marianna has spent over 20 years advising private company boards across Sydney's SME sector, and two decades supporting CFOs and serving as a trusted financial adviser to boards in her capacity as a Chartered Accountant. She has worked with over 300 clients spanning creative agencies, professional services firms, environmental bodies, welfare organisations, and owner-operated businesses across Sydney.
Marianna is also a Certified Chair™ (Advisory Board Centre), a credential that reflects both her commitment to governance best practice and her ability to operate effectively at board level — not just as a financial adviser to boards, but as a director within them. She currently serves as Adviser to the Board at Sydney Coastal Councils Group, where she has supported government grant funding, cash flow management, and stakeholder engagement since 2015.

The philosophy behind the work.
“Numbers are not what motivate us to get up in the morning — but they do help us achieve strategic goals, build a legacy, and make a meaningful difference. That is the philosophy behind everything at CWC Consulting.”
As a Chartered Accountant, numbers are the special skill. But the approach as an adviser and board member is objective, evidence-based, and commercially grounded — without ever taking people out of the equation. The best financial advice is empathetic, relational, and able to connect with decision-makers across businesses, not-for-profits, and membership bodies.
